Norman Ecological Consulting, LLC is run solely by Frank J. Norman, a senior plant ecologist with over 34 years of experience in the field of ecology. He has worked for a number of engineering and restoration firms in the Kansas City area prior start his firm in 2007.

 

An experienced plant ecologist, botanist and project manager, Frank Norman has worked nationally in 26 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Districts and in 27 states with extensive experience in the Midwest focusing on wetland, restoration, and inventory projects. Norman is a certified senior professional wetland scientist (SPWS) through the Society of Wetland Scientists. Frank has a reputation for his expertise with native flora, vegetation monitoring, native restoration design, rare plant surveys, and wetlands assessments.  He has diverse project experience with municipalities, non-profits, government agencies, private companies, and individual landowners. He also has coordinated state and federal agency interactions and managed wetland crews in the field. He has conducted large-scale wetland delineations, led major permitting efforts, and has designed and implemented wetland mitigations.

 

He received a masters of art in botany from the University of Kansas in 1989 and a bachelors of science in systematics and ecology from the University of Kansas in 1984.
